It's About Time!
Well, it was going to happen eventually. It just happened sooner than even I expected.
I fully intended to make this blog a weekly endeavor. Each week you were going to be subjected to whatever was on my mind at the time if you ended up in this space. I wasn't planning on writing War and Peace by any means, but I REALLY meant to get something out every week.
Oops.
What happened? Was there some spectacular event or crisis that kept me from my self appointed rounds?
Nope.
It was just life. There was work, school, soccer practice, play rehearsal, church and all the other various things that make up life at the Borland's. There was no seminal event, no catastrophe, just a string of.....things.
I've come to have a great appreciation for the folllowing quote. “The bad news is time flies. The good news is you're the pilot." ― Michael Altshuler
We forget too often that the world is temporary (as are we) and that we need to prioritize what we do and where we do it (and most importantly) who we do it with.
Ephesians 5:15-17 states: So, then, be careful how you live. Do not be unwise but wise, making the best use of your time because the times are evil. Therefore, do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is.
Understanding the Lord's will takes effort and (you guessed it) TIME! Don't be distracted by all the mundane happenings of life. Make sure that you take the time for the things that you know are important.
Is taking time to write this post the be all and end all of my week? No, but the time, thought and study that it took to make this semi-coherent has been a huge boost to my week and I hope it has been to you as well.
In Him,
Chris Borland
